They will help you decipher if you gave your self enough time to accomplish what you want or they will let you know if you are trying to push yourself too much and may end up getting hurt in the long run.
The best thing to do is make sure that you are keeping track of what you are doing and how it is getting you closer to your fitness goal that you have set for yourself. If you keep some kind of progress chart it might be the best way to see how you are doing with your progress to a fitter and healthier you.
No matter how you keep track of your progress try to talk to the trainer and your doctor to see if you are going at a good, safe speed of fitness or if their may be some changes that you will need to make in your workouts to get better results.
